Ágora 2026 — Cultural Festival at Leiria Castle
Art, ideas and heritage come together in one of Leiria’s most iconic landmarks
From 18 to 20 September 2026, Leiria Castle hosts Ágora — Cultura no Castelo, a cultural event that transforms this historic monument into a meeting place for different forms of artistic expression.
Concerts, performing arts, installations and workshops are part of a programme designed to offer a different way of experiencing Leiria Castle. For visitors planning a stay in Fátima, Ágora is also an excellent reason to spend a day discovering Leiria and add contemporary culture and heritage to an itinerary through Central Portugal.
About Ágora
Under the theme “(A)castelar o pensamento”, Ágora presents three days of cultural programming in a setting where centuries of history meet contemporary artistic creation.
From 18 to 20 September, different areas of Leiria Castle will host concerts, performances, installations and workshops, inviting visitors not only to attend the programme but also to discover the monument from new perspectives.
The location itself is an important part of the experience. Overlooking the city, the castle provides a remarkable setting in which to enjoy the programme while discovering one of the main landmarks of Leiria.
